Chicago Air & Water Show 2026
The 2026 Chicago Air and Water Show, a free two‑day event on Aug. 15‑16 at the Lake Michigan lakefront, draws over a million spectators. Main attractions are divided into military and civilian categories. Military performers include the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, Air Force Thunderbirds, Army Golden Knights parachute team, Air National Guard KC‑135 and A‑10 units, Coast Guard rescue demos, Marine Corps Osprey, and various fighter and transport aircraft. Civilian stunt pilots feature aerobatic teams and solo acts such as Bill Stein’s Edge 540, Kevin Coleman’s Red Bull aerobatics, Susan Dacy’s Big Red Stearman, and historic biplanes. The show also showcases police and fire department helicopters, and a range of water‑based demonstrations. Spectators can watch from North Avenue Beach, other lakefront spots from Fullerton to Oak Street, rooftop bars, waterfront restaurants, or on lake cruises. Amenities include audio description for low‑vision guests, restrooms, and public transit access. No tickets are required.
