Advice for visitors: Bring a refillable water bottle, wear comfortable shoes, pack sunscreen, and bring a small folding chair or blanket. Arrive early to get a good spot and check the band schedule so you don’t miss your favorite music. This event has been running since 2002 and it grows more lively every year. There are three stages and about twelve live bands playing jazz, R&B, rock, and other styles. The music is friendly and easy to enjoy. You can listen close or dance a few steps in the street. Families and neighbors come from all around. The streets turn into a big, happy block party where people clap, sing, and smile.
The food and shops add to the fun. Local stores and restaurants stay open and welcome guests. Food trucks line the street with many tasty choices. You can try something new or stick with a familiar snack. Kids and grown-ups often bring their own chairs and set up a small spot to relax. Even though it feels like a party, people are kind and look out for one another. The energy is bright and friendly. Musicians play strong songs and groups of people dance in the open space. There are seats and street corners where families can sit and enjoy the show. The festival shows how a neighborhood can come together to celebrate music, business, and community life.
For a smooth visit, plan ahead. Use public transit or carpool if parking seems hard. Bring small bills in case a vendor prefers cash. Keep an eye on kids and a meeting spot in case anyone gets lost. Follow any rules set by event staff and respect performers and neighbors. If you want quieter time, walk a bit away from the main stages to find a calm spot.
